Good music is not the only element that helps emerging indie artists in India make the cut today. A striking artistic persona, quality production value, and rousing collaborations within artists within the community are equally essential elements that go into the making of a breakout star in today’s Indian music landscape.
Chennai-based indie musician Aryaman Singh seems to be catching on to this emerging trend in the industry. The 19-year old self-taught musician who goes under the alias Sunflower Tape Machine has quickly risen to the forefront of India’s indie music scene in the past year.
His debut EP, Sophomore sweetheart spoke of a relatable current state of affairs that engulfed the world. Riding on a promising and impressive response from his audience, Aryaman has released his latest track, internet friends on February 3 this year.
Released under Export Quality Records, the indie-pop track has already been featured in over 6 editorial playlists by Spotify India and witnessed a national television release on VH1 India.
A charming music video that accompanies the track was directed and edited by Gherkinz, the creative brainchild of musician and designer, Shashank Manohar from Indian indie rock pioneers The F16s.
