Script, a cutting-edge furniture store in Bangalore is back with another of its creative huddle sessions. The concept of ‘Huddles’ developed by the brand is a series of talks, performances, workshops, meet-ups and soirées that span across genres. Examples of previous Huddles include a coffee-brewing event and a culinary workshop with celebrity Masterchef Sarah Todd. This time, in collaboration with Savio Souza from Green Education Organisation, the workshop will arm you with all the skills you need to be able to grow fresh, organic produce right at your home.
The workshop entails a detailed, hands-on program to get you started. Along with three central demos and practical tips in kitchen gardening, he will be going over the elements involving growing few selected herbs and vegetables as a bonus. The nutritional benefits of such a lifestyle practice and how to integrate into your everyday life will also be outlined. Souza will also introduce you to support groups to help you continue the practice post the workshop, and prides in having long-term relationships with attendees
Savio tells us the benefits of incorporating these practices, “Imagine waking up every morning to a vitalising breakfast smoothie, and one of the ingredients in it are the fresh organic greens you grew yourself. How awesome would that be? In a world that is increasingly feeding us food which has been grown using pesticides and growth hormones, just think how valuable skill like this would be?”
Such an initiative is unlike most furniture stores in the country, but Script wish to go beyond the usual and interact with customers on making life more engaging and purposeful. “As a brand we found that there was a gap when people looked out for a place where they could get in-depth knowledge about daily activities that were a critical part of their lives or a place where they can reach out to like-minded people for common interest and increase their knowledge about these topics,” says Mr Rajat Mathur, Script, Godrej & Boyce. They visualised the concept of ‘Freedom of Living’, events around which ‘lift the store from a beautiful exhibit of products to a buzzing destination that offers a fluid living experience’, as Mr.Mathur explains.
