I. Malcha Mahal

A house of a prince, not so long ago, Malcha Mahal or Wilayat Mahal is an abandoned fort in the middle of a forest in the Chanakyapuri area of New Delhi. Previously used as a hunting lodge of the Tughlaq era, Malcha Mahal is infamous for its history. Wilayah Mahal of Awadh claimed she was a part of the royal family of Oudh and therefore, claimed the palace as well. It was given to them by the government in 1985, which later was inhabited by her children, Sakina Mahal and Prince Ali Raza, who lived there till 2017.

The haunted nature of the fort lies in the way the Wilayat Mahal family had ostracised themselves from the world with no contact as well as no water, no electricity but just one butler to transport supplies. The family was peculiar and when the prince died, it left the mahal in an unvisitable state.

II. Feroz Shah Kotla

A historical site with various monuments within and around and a generally popular destination to be visited by people, but only during the day. The haunting tale of djinns in the Feroz Shah Kotla Fort leaves people scared out of their wits to pay a visit beyond sunset. Djinns are supposedly shapeless creatures who can do possibly every human activity but remain formless. A widely believed theory is that they love preying on younger women. With screams from graves being heard by many visitors and invisible hands grabbing hold of onlookers, the mahal retains its charms only during the day and pushes visitors beyond 6 pm back into their homes.

III. Jamali Kamali

Jamali Kamali, as beautiful as its name, holds a beautiful place in history due to its former architectural and poetic history. But detracting from or as some believe aiding, its beauty and glory are the haunting stories of Jamali Kamali. White visions, eerie sounds and presences and the old tale of djinns make the destination a place to be associated with ghouls and ghosts. Often believed that the stories are made up, people still often hesitate to pay a visit to the ruins of the once-great mahal.
