However, the Sports Ministry was not moved. Last year, Keshavan went and met the minister, hoping that it would help bring about a change. While they did promise him a substantial amount, nothing ever materialised.

“I was very hopeful that the new government headed by Prime Minister Modi the bureaucratic delays, and improve transparency and accountability. 

However, in the case of winter sports, it seems my hopes were unfounded as the situation is getting worse. I met with the current Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal since he took office and he did assure me of support. I have submitted my proposal to him twice and been assured that it will be looked at in a positive light.
