Informed by a passion for culture, art, music, visual aesthetics and the every day, their latest project has a teammate’s grandparents as muses to shift the perspective of streetwear as something only for young individuals. Some photoseries are nostalgic trips, a way of tapping into a loving memory and recreating that through fashion and artistic expression. It is this very process that led to 23-year-old Pakistan-based fashion photographer and concept designer’s series Motia - From Daado’s Garden. With concept, costume design and photography by Sajjal herself, the photoseries draws from her childhood memories. Of the series, she says, “Growing up in my grandmother’s house I used to pick motia from our beautiful garden for her to wear as earrings. It was a daily morning ritual for years until we moved to Lahore. Even after all these years the wonderful fragrance of motia takes me back to those moments in the garden where I photographed on my first film camera when I was a six years old. This editorial is totally inspired from the early experiences I had as a child in my daado’s garden.”

III. Pink is Visible by Saurabh Basu

In the race to assign everything a gender even colours have been gendered. With this series photographer Saurabh Basu wants to move away from this narrative. He says, “The series is based on the colour pink and how it is visible throughout the entire frame breaking the stereotypical mentally of people tracking towards every single genre, style, nature and colour as masculine or feminine. The colour pink has no gender, it is as neutral as the any other colour represents.” To break this mindset model Joan Dominic Rai has styled a perfect pink attire by joskai to hold the look in a plain and simple white background to distinctly attract the primary colour pink.
