A haven for dreamers and aspirants, it’s no surprise that Mumbai, India’s most expensive city, often finds itself lacking space. This paucity definitely bleeds into the city’s architectural identity, with Mumbai’s apartments often termed as matchbox-esque. However, this does not stop the new-age builders and creators from leaving their mark.

Meet Nitin Killawala and his beautiful urban house in Mumbai. An architect for around three decades, Nitin decided to reinvent and update his 50-year-old family property in a rather bold way. To battle Mumbai’s space constraints, this G7 architect built the property vertically and varied each floors and sections. The structural identity is marked with steel decks, wooden sled windows, balconies and so much more. Littered with natural sunlight, this urban house stands out with its beautiful architectural prowess. In a video by Buildofy, Nitin lets us in on the conceptual ideas that went into constructing the house.

While we are aware of the privilege Nitin and his family had by owning such a property in the first place, along with the plausible environmental implications a residency like this might have, it’d unfair not to marvel and appreciate the craft and thought poured into its creative design.

So, enjoy the video below and get to know more about this amazing place!
