Adil x Aksomaniac's New Single Is A Love Struck Blend Of Malayalam R&B & Desi Hip-Hop

When Adil, the prolific Indian producer, set out to create a successor to the iconic 'Jiya Jale', he envisioned a song that would blend Hindi and Malayalam and encapsulate the essence of both cultures. This led him to find Aksomaniac, a Trivandrum-based pianist and producer with a flair for integrating diverse musical genres. Together, they made ‘Nazar’ - a track that beautifully marries Malayalam R&B with desi hip-hop.

A Hindi track with a Malayalam verse is a concept audacious enough to pique the curiosity of any music enthusiast. The result is a enchanting fusion: a love song, a declaration of infatuation, and a deeply personal exploration of the artists' souls.

Aksomaniac's journey, marked by self-taught and a profound love for music's intricacies, has culminated in a unique artistic voice. For him, music is a therapeutic process; a method of self-discovery.

The Malayalam lyrics, "en kaathil varum etho paatin swaram aayi nee aah nee yen paathi njan paadum varikalil nin thaalam ee mozhikalil nin bhaavangal ezhuthuvaan njan ninne thedi njan thedi," creates a conversation, a dialogue between the artist and his muse. It is a poetic expression of his longing; a desire for her essence to permeate his music.

Complementing Aksomaniac’s introspective verse is Adil's addictive desi hip-hop beat. The juxtaposition of his confident, rhythmic delivery against Aksomaniac’s soulful R&B creates a dynamic tension that propels the song forward as much as it creates a fitting musical contrast.

This confluence of Malayalam and Hindi, R&B and hip-hop, as well as vulnerability and confidence creates an original sound that is both familiar and new.

Even for those who don’t know Malayalam (like me), Adil and Aksomaniac's team-up is pure magic. Their song ‘Nazar’ smashes through language and genre barriers and hits listeners (like me) right in the feels.
