Navigating relationships, sex, intimacy, and more can seem like a daunting task for many. Identities across genders, sexualities, and preferences cannot be contained under an age-old umbrella of the same approach to their various relationships.
The Intimacy Curator (TIC) is an organisation promoting self-discovery through emotional and sexual well-being, and they offer dating, relationship and intimacy coaching services. They are all-inclusive and non-discriminatory and cater to people of all orientations and abilities. Their event, Monogamy Disrupted, is coming to Mumbai for its second edition. Here, polyamory is celebrated and explored to its fullest.
Head Curator of TIC, Aili Seghetti tells us that as an organisation, they always felt the need to create a space for polyamorous and polycurious individuals to meet face-to-face. When the lack of such a platform was realised, team TIC decided to plug the gap themselves.
“To find someone else who is polyamorous on a dating app is challenging. This is why we decided to have the event - to end the judgement.”
— Aili Seghetti
The first edition was successful and saw a large number of people showing interest in it. Sans judgement, people of the polyamory community were able to socialise freely. The second edition aims to provide a similar environment to more people. Backed by awareness and education and most importantly sensitivity and consent, TIC’s Monogamy Disrupted is for polyamorous and polycurious people to truly be free to be who they are. Exploring relationships and intimacy with empathy, the event aims to create a safe space.
Polyamory in India, much like several other topics on identity, remains in contention. TIC’s vision is to normalise it and help individuals take charge of their identities.
TIC is on the lookout for performers to take centre stage at the event, and if you’re interested, you can reach out to them at hello@theintimacycurator.com.
Monogamy Disrupted will take place on June 3, 2022, in Mumbai. Head here to register for it.
