For most of us who don’t know, a Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2016 has being making rounds across government cabinet meetings. Once passed as part of Rights of Transgender Persons Bill, 2014, this bill promises the kind of equality we have being looking for within our legal space. Thankfully, since 2014, when transgenders were finally legally recognised as part of a third gender, India hasn’t stepped back and only progressed into creating a more egalitarian future for all--at least as far as this community is concerned.
