There is something sweet, almost an inescapable innocence at the beginning of relationships. It is these brief moments of coming into love, of believing, of friendship and of faith that New Delhi singer-songwriter Dhruv Kapoor explores in his latest single and music video for Tum Ho Meri Jaan. There is a joyousness that exudes from the soft-pop melodic number; the gentle guitar strums almost an imitation of two hearts trying to sync.
The music video was conceptualized by Dhruv Kapoor, Gorkey Patwal and Mitali Solanki, directed by Solanki and with actors Ashmita Meghrajani and Abhishekh Khan playing the lovestruck friends is the perfect backdrop for this indie single. The characters’ small moments of exchanging glances, brief handholds and endless conversations is the perfect ode to love, friendships and the sweet beginnings of relationships. In Portrait Of A Lady On Fire Céline Sciamma introspects, “Do all lovers feel like they’re inventing something?” In Kapoor’s music video we see this invention come to life and unfold right before us.
