'The Window' is a new café at Hotel Diplomat that brings together Dumbo Deli’s sandwich-led menu and Perch’s specialty coffee programme under one roof. Located in Chanakyapuri, the all-day café serves Florentine-style sandwiches, breakfast jars, bakes, bowls, matcha, cold brews, smoothies, and functional beverages, combining Dumbo Deli’s ingredient-focused comfort food with Perch’s coffee expertise in a kiosk-style space designed around quick meals, coffee stops, and everyday city routines.
Two of Delhi’s most popular culinary names, Dumbo Deli and Perch, have just come together to unveil a new café concept called 'The Window'. Located inside Hotel Diplomat on Malcha Marg in Chanakyapuri, the joint venture sets itself up in one of the city's most prominent neighborhood addresses designed around convenience and quality rituals, serving a mix of neighbourhood residents, diplomats, and travellers who want exceptional food that fits into a faster daily routine. The café takes the form of a striped-awning drive-through kiosk that nods to classic European street windows while fitting comfortably within the broad avenues, embassy-lined streets, and regal atmosphere of Lutyens’ Delhi. Guests can grab their order on the go or enjoy it in Hotel Diplomat’s courtyard.
At the heart of the Window is Dumbo Deli, the Delhi-born café and sandwich brand known for its ingredient-driven approach to comfort food. The menu centres around its popular Florentine sandwiches, alongside a selection of new additions created specifically for this format. Guests can choose from vegetarian options such as the Mamma, filled with grilled zucchini, roasted peppers, heirloom tomatoes, pickled cucumber, onion jam, romaine lettuce, lemon-basil aioli, and balsamic glaze; the Lola with grilled halloumi, chilli crisp, charred pepper aioli, pickled cucumber, and rocket leaves; the Amalfi featuring bocconcini, sun-dried tomato, pesto piccante, Parma Rosa vodka spread, parmesan, and rocket leaves; and the Bella, which combines burrata foam, basil pesto, pistachio granella, confit heirloom tomatoes, and romaine lettuce.
The non-vegetarian selection includes the Florence with chicken mortadella, fior di latte, pistachio crema, pistachio granella, and romaine lettuce; the Caesar with sous vide chicken, Caesar aioli, fizzy greens, crisp quinoa, and aged parmesan shavings; the Luca with grilled chicken, shredded iceberg, pickled cucumber, charred tomatoes, fermented chilli aioli, and Maldon sea salt; and the Viola, built around burrata, prosciutto di Parma ham, cream of ’nduja, arugula leaves, and mustard spread. Alongside these sandwiches, the menu also features a seasonal Summer Sandwich made with watermelon slab, feta mousse, balsamic glaze, and mint leaves. Guests can add crinkle-cut fries, chicken popcorn, garlic bread sticks, or a selection of dips including Dumbo Dip mustard, hot honey, pesto piccante, and marinara.
Beyond sandwiches, the Window also serves breakfast jars, fresh bakes, nourishing bowls, and a range of daytime options designed for people moving through the city. The beverage programme comes from Perch, which brings its specialty coffee expertise to the project. The menu includes specialty coffee, cold brews, ceremonial-grade matcha, adaptogenic smoothies, hydration-focused coolers, and functional beverages aimed at everyday wellness and flavour. Together, the food and drinks create an all-day café experience that works equally well for a morning coffee stop, a quick lunch, or an afternoon break.
