There's nothing more dystopian than a contemporary event in a historic, 165 year-old warehouse. The echoes of the past colliding with a moving future is a sinfully poetic sight to behold. Tracing its roots in the development of dance culture in the 80s, the warehouse party phenomena has been considered both a come-back and continuum from its inception as a mass subcultural movement.
This summer, in an exclusive event, a first of its kind culture and lifestyle festival in India brings back the same subculture of underground artistic innovation. #HGStreet is a two-day festival that is at the intersection of creativity, music, art and design, fashion, film and photography, technology, sneakers and street culture, sports, education, culinary, innovation and more happening from at the Richardson & Cruddas warehouse in Byculla.
#HGStreet festival is not your typical music festival but an adventurous playground for various disciplines.
Formerly an iron works company founded by Richarson and Crudaas in British era to fulfill ironwork needs of Great Indian Peninsula Railways (GIPR) and the British Govt, the space was undertaken by Govt. of India in 1972 after independence, Govt. of India in 1972 undertook it. This industrial warehouse has been around since 1858 and offers a massive 150k sqft of space for events and parties.
With music acts, visual art exhibitions, fashion show featuring homegrown labels, culture panels, workshops and masterclasses, sneaker and streetwear marketplace, streetfood pop-ups and cocktails and mixology experiences, join this multi-format festival in an expression and celebration of India’s evolving culture movements and voices.
