Ongoing exhibition ‘Poetics of the Real and Imagined’ brings together five artists' fervent practices based on socio-political notions of equity and justice. In order to emphasise and communicate the relationships of human subjects to each other as well as to history, their work draws on poetry, realism, and dreamscapes.

These relationships are evident in daily contemporary life, whether it be the experience of urbanity or even ancestral and subsistence bonds with the earth. The bodies of migrants, labourers, and trans people live in transitional environments and struggle with issues of gender, language, and caste identity as they move through rapidly changing environments and ways of life in the global south.

The exhibition features grantees from Charles Wallace India Trust across four decades with Anupam Roy showcasing the experiences and observations of different socio-political movements; Pallavi Paul, interrogating how the idea of 'truth' is produced and argued in public life; Ranbir Kaleka, presenting a body of trans-media; Ranjit Kandalgaonkar’s city specific projects and Varunika Saraf’s historic artwork.
