Homegrown Staff

"It looks so beautiful, I wish I could live in that painting," a thought that’s crossed everyone's mind at some point or the other upon glancing an image that stimulates their senses.

That could vary from a field full of daffodils to an urban landscape but the good news is that if the painting you wanted to immerse yourself in was ever Vincent Van Gogh’s Bedroom In Arles, then you may finally have your chance.

The Art Institute of Chicago has recreated his infamous painting and posted it on Airbnb, under Van Gogh’s name. From looking at the images, the life-size replica is pretty spot-on, down to each disordered detail of the original. The artist himself simply called this composition that's been replicated The Bedroom.

The listing describes the room to be “decorated in a Post-Impressionist style, reminiscent of Southern France and times gone by. Its furniture, bright colors, and artwork will give you the experience of a lifetime. A witty additional note, as if written by the artist himself, reads: “I’m charging $10 for no other reason than that I need to buy paint. However, I will be happy to provide you with tickets to my exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago.”
