Homegrown x Casa Bacardi are back with India's biggest Halloween party this weekend. Get ready and immerse yourself in the Halloween spirit by watching our homegrown short film. Directed by co-founder and CEO Varsha Patra, follow five characters are they explore different sides of themselves. Homegrown's ethos, especially during Halloween, is rooted in transformation. We give you the freedom to explore the multitude of identities that live within you.
Gayatri finds herself in the mood to express, embracing the glamour and flamboyance that everyday life denies her. We’re placed into rigid categories that box us into specific roles and expectations, but on Halloween, these boundaries dissolve. Each of us has not just one, but many selves.
On the other hand, Edno and Rosh are in the mood to explore. They infuse a palpable sense of desire and energy. Their scenes, juxtaposed with Freddie's hypnotic routine, are unafraid, sensuous, and driven by curiosity. Their chemistry is electric, highlighting the film’s theme of seeking thrills in unexpected places.
Our alter egos are powerful facets that rarely have the chance to emerge. They are the shadows walking beside us, the reflections in mirrors we rarely look into, waiting to unfold. Chirag sets his free — he's in the mood to shapeshift. His transformation is wild, unexpected, and raw, making him a thrilling presence as he teeters between reality and fantasy.
Lastly, Shai is in the mood to stir it up. She's all about disruption. She’s not content with just observing the chaos — she’s in the mood to ignite it. Her presence is fiery, and her actions are deliberate, contrasting with the controlled unpredictability of Chirag and the adventurous chemistry of Edno and Rosh.
Shot entirely in 77-year-old Liberty Cinema, the setting is as much a character as the people, serving as a haunting witness to the unfolding drama. Liberty's vintage charm and rich history seep into every frame, adding layers of suspense and nostalgia. Its grand, dimly lit hallways, faded velvet seats, and ornate decor evoke an unsettling sense of past grandeur now tainted with mystery.
The rich, moody cinematography uses shadows and eerie lighting to keep you on the edge of your seat. It amplifies the tension of each character. Every frame is carefully constructed, with moments of eerie stillness broken by sudden bursts of movement.
Get ready for an unforgettable night, where frights are guaranteed! Come join the excitement as we celebrate horror in all its glory.
