Congratulations on making it through another month of quarantine! We can all easily agree that this unprecedented and overwhelming experience hasn’t been the most smooth-sailing. However, binge-watching movies and series over OTT platforms for hours (admittedly sometimes throughout the day) softens the blow.

Numerous theatrical releases have changed course due to the pandemic and jumped on the OTT bandwagon. With not much else to pass the time at home, the direct-to-digital releases may prove to be an exciting addition to our calendars.

With the novel Coronavirus showing minimal signs of allowing us out of our houses, we took it upon ourselves to provide you with a list of releases on Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, and Amazon Prime to keep you going.

I. Shakuntala Devi - Amazon Prime

Very much unlike the online Math classes, Shakuntala Devi by Anu Menon may actually get most of interested in the daunting subject. Featuring Vidya Balan in the titular role, the movie maps the journey of the ‘Human Computer’ all through her initial inspiration, days of glory, and personal downfalls. The story of the mathematical legend will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on July 31.

II. Dil Bechara - Disney+ Hotstar

Based on John Green’s book The Fault In Our Stars and a remake of the Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley starrer, Dil Bechara stars the late Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi. The film, however, chooses to focus on youngsters in love than youngsters in pain. It is directed by Mukesh Chhabra with music from AR Rahman. Dil Bechara will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar on 24 July.
