There are multiple craft breweries popping up around the nation, but not as many concept bars for those who love their liquor...stronger, shall we say? Gurgaon’s Whisky Samba decided to do exactly that with their concept that offers customers one of the largest varieties of whiskey in one place.
The people behind this innovative concept, Ashish Dev Kapur and Joydeep Singh, began this venture in February this year. Kapur is also the founder of Dimsum Bros, The Wine Company and Antares in Goa and has even collaborated with international celebrities. Whisky Samba has over 140 varieties of whiskey from all over the world, stocked across a 50-foot long bar. Approximately 2500 bottles of whiskey aesthetically decorate it, bringing every whiskey lover to near tears from its sheer splendour.
They serve you with a welcoming drink upon entering called ‘Boarding Pass’ which is
made of ginger ale and orange to enhance your taste buds for an ideal whiskey experience. From wood finished whiskey to smoother whiskey, they have it all. Akshay Bhardwaj, the head chef has prepared an extensive bar menu with a focus on local and seasonal produce. He has also developed an 11 course tasting menu paired with vintage whiskey, making it a gastronome’s delight and a must try, which is another first for the capital city.
Whisky Samba aims to demystify the world of whiskey and hence, the bar menu presents
fashionably inspired cocktails, curated whiskey trails that define the spirit by their flavour
profile, and unique cask-finished whiskey amongst others. The average cost for two is
INR 3,500 but the experience is beyond measurable.
