Photography

Imdad Barbhuyan has an uncanny ability to find poetry in the everyday, transforming melancholia, memory, and desire into striking visual narratives. His project I Watched My Mother Cry draws parallels between feminine grief and planetary crises, while Poetry of My Land captures Assam with a poet’s tenderness. Benu: A Full Circle explores sisterhood through the lens of nostalgia, following his mother and her friend as they revisit their youth’s landscapes.

Kirti Narain brings a bold, mixed-media approach to photography and filmmaking, balancing high-profile brand work with thought-provoking social projects. Her ongoing series, Women: Idol to Ideal, questions the paradox of womanhood — both worshipped and victimized — while her vibrant, surreal compositions push the boundaries of gender and identity in the modern world.

Indrajit Khambe is a documentary photographer with a deep reverence for human narratives, family, and community life. From the Dashavatar Theater to Kolhapur’s wrestling arenas, his work captures people in their most unfiltered, authentic moments. In Hampi: The Land Beyond Landscape, he shifts focus from ruins to rural life, documenting farmers and villagers with an earnestness that highlights the quiet beauty of everyday existence.

Film

Memories Of A Poet By Shibani Mitra - Sometimes, the best stories unfold when no one’s really trying to tell them. Memories of a Poet by Shibani Mitra is exactly that — a quiet, unfiltered glimpse into the life of a poet in Shantiniketan, reflecting on love and marriage. Shot in the moments between takes, when the actors were just being themselves, the film captures the kind of truth that scripted scenes often miss. Shibani, known for her raw and instinctive storytelling, believes the most powerful narratives exist in these in-between spaces — familiar yet fleeting, like half-remembered dreams.

Catch this intimate, almost accidental poetry in motion at The Homegrown Festival.

Contemporary Art

Namrata Kumar is a New Delhi-based artist and graphic designer whose work is deeply inspired by her travels and cultural encounters. Fascinated by textiles, especially the sari, she often translates its rich textures and drapery into her paintings, blending design sensibilities with a keen artistic eye.

Taniya Timble, a self-taught illustrator from Jaipur, finds beauty in the everyday. Her vibrant digital illustrations capture the essence of Rajasthan’s colors, people, and culture, while also reflecting influences from her extensive travels across the Indian subcontinent.

Bhumika Mukherjee moves fluidly between design, illustration, and fine arts, bringing a rich background from NID Ahmedabad and Star India to her independent practice. Whether working with digital or traditional media, her work is rooted in storytelling, balancing commercial commissions with a deeply personal artistic voice.

Vriddhi, a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist, weaves dreams, memory, and ritual into her immersive works. Engaging with themes of intergenerational knowledge and healing, her practice spans performance, painting, and installation — turning trauma and melancholy into powerful acts of renewal and soft futurism.
