Biskit, the Berlin and Chennai-based brand known for its unisex concept label blending futuristic aesthetics with minimalism has unveiled its latest collection, 'Space Odyssey.' This capsule collection draws inspiration from India's space journey, particularly the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) groundbreaking PSLV-C37 mission in 2017 and the historic Chandrayaan 3 mission's conquest of the Moon's south pole. 'Space Odyssey' features four original artworks from their SPACED OUT concept, paying homage to ISRO's remarkable achievements in space exploration while showcasing Biskit's unique fusion of art and design.
'We have landed on the moon' portrays India's historic moon landing, marking it as the fourth country to achieve this remarkable feat. This artwork encapsulates the significance of India's mission in conquering uncharted frontiers, particularly the Moon's south pole, which no other mission had previously accomplished.
'WAKE UP YOU SLEEPYHEAD' offers an abstract portrayal of astronaut Rakesh Sharma in space. Geometric forms in the background symbolize floating space debris, while the artwork envisions India's first astronaut gazing back at Earth from the vastness of space, announcing our lunar arrival.
'MOM' takes a playful approach to the media coverage of India's Mars mission. It incorporates the phrase "MOM SUCCESSFULLY ENTERS MARTIAN ORBIT" from a direct press quote made in 2014, capturing the excitement and success of the mission.
'ISRO - 1984' combines ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) with the year 1984 to commemorate India's first astronaut's journey into space. The circular features in the artwork are inspired by a portrait of Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian to travel to space, blending elements of ISRO's achievements with the historical significance of 1984.
Biskit's 'Space Odyssey' collection seamlessly merges fashion, art, and design with a landmark moment in our zeitgeist, paying tribute to India's remarkable achievements in space exploration. This pioneering narrative captures pivotal moments in space history, offering a unique blend of creativity and historical significance. Biskit emerges as a trailblazing brand at the intersection of imagination and history, forging a vivid connection to a momentous chapter in our collective human journey.
