Let’s be honest, as Indians, we love our spice, or as we say in Tamil, ‘Kaaram’. However, hot sauces have never truly been a part of our kitchen customs. 'Kaaram OK Please' is a homegrown hot sauce brand that's bringing local flavours to Indian hot sauces.

They embody a fiery blend of heat and heritage, emphasising South Indian flavours and ingredients. Kaaram OK Please aims to be quirky and bold with a local touch, and this is reflected in their packaging and designs. A 'Drishti Bommai', or the Tamil equivalent of a 'nazar battu', greets you on their packaging. Their brand language pays homage to Indian truck art, and even their name is inspired by an evergreen ‘Horn OK Please’.

The brand aims to revive local ingredients without necessarily imposing traditional methods. For them, every ingredient holds a rich background story, entwining food culture and history. Using hyper-local ingredients and techniques such as hydroponic growth, Kaaram OK also incorporates lacto-fermentation, slow cooking, and traditional small-batch methods to ensure consistency and an unapologetic South Indian spirit. Founded by Akhila and Suman, the core of Kaaram OK Please is an all-women team that manages everything from start to finish. The true strength of Kaaram OK Please lies in three women in particular: Tamizh Selvi, Praveena, and Kalpana, who oversee backend operations, from production to packaging and dispatch. The brand was born from Akhila’s realisation that fermentation is a flavour explosion wh which, when combined with South Indian produce and techniques, transforms and enhances the flavours.

Currently, the brand offers three flavours of hot sauce — Bajji Molaga and Kadugu (Long Chillies and Mustard), Pachamirapakai and Tulsi (Andhra Green Chillies and Basil), and Kandhari and Kokum (Kandhari Chillies and Kokum).
