Divyansha’s ‘Mid-Week Blues’ Highlights A New Kind Of Stagnation

We always predicted that we’re moving towards a digital world, but little did we know that the Coronavirus pandemic’s consequential total virtuality is what we had in store. Exciting at first, the screen-time began to take a toll on everyone subsequently.

Illustrating this ‘virtual fatigue’ is Divyansha, a visual artist and communication designer working in the field of UI/UX. Her aptly-titled illustration ‘Mid-Week Blues’, emphasises the stagnation one experiences on sitting for hours opposite a screen. The lack of physical touch and the resultant exasperation is evident.

“In a world where so much is being done online, via a screen, the feeling of stagnation it’ll bring is imminent. The screen + life juggling has gone way off balance when almost everything we currently do is manifested digitally, distancing ourselves from the old normal,” explains Divyansha.

The mundaneness peaks in the middle of the week, forming a barrier-like inhibition between you and productivity, and Divyansha’s ‘Mid-Week Blues’ accurately represents that.
