Mango season is here and you best believe we're gonna over-consume it, because even if Katy Perry missed out on it in her song, an 'Indian Summer' is incomplete without it. If you're looking for new ways to experience the king of fruits this year, we've got a few cafes in mind that have been working on fun and exciting mango-themed recipes for their summer menus. This isn't hyper-conceptual haute cuisine where the fruit has been reduced to vapour or something (no offense). Just hearty and filling brunch plates and luscious beverages to forget about the alarming, rising temperatures for a bit.
At The Bread Bar in Chembur, the mango summer menu is built around Alphonso mangoes and leans heavily into their pastry and dessert lineup. There’s a Mango Cream Cheese Croissant, Mango Lemon Doughnut, Mango Tart, Mango Choux, Mango Raspberry Swiss Roll, Mango Cheesecake, and an Alphonso Mango Gateaux, alongside a Mango & Cream Toast made on their milk bread. The menu also brings in a few lighter and savoury options like a Mango Avocado Toast, Mango Feta Salad, and Mango Chia Pudding. Drinks include a Mango Matcha Latte, Mango Passion Fruit Lemonade, Mango Cold Brew, and a Mango Milkshake, while the gelato section features an Alphonso Mango Gelato with vegan and sugar-free versions available.
Zane’s Café & Pet Spa in Mumbai has put together a mango specials menu that runs across drinks, plates, and desserts. On the beverage side, there’s a Mango Cold Brew, an Iced Mango Matcha Latte, and a thick Mango Milkshake. The food menu includes Mango French Toast Sticks and Aamras Pancakes for something sweet, alongside an Avo Mango Toast that pairs the fruit with avocado. Savoury options bring in sharper contrasts, with a Mango & Kale Salad, Nachos with Mango Salsa, and Mango-Chilli Chicken Wings that lean into a sweet-spicy mix. Desserts include Mango Sundae, Mango Cheesecake, and a Mango & Coconut Affogato, with a Mango & Yogurt Bowl made specifically for pets.
July 7 in Pune includes a few mango-based dishes in its summer menu, starting with a Mango & Tadgola Salad that combines ripe mango with ice apple for a light, cooling dish. On the dessert side, there’s an Amrakhand Cannelloni, where amrakhand is filled into a cannelloni-style shell, along with a Mango Cheesecake. The bar menu also features an Aam Panna Cocktail, built on the raw mango drink with a spiced, tangy profile.
Lillies – The Boho Cafe in Hyderabad has a tight mango-focused summer menu that runs across breakfast plates, desserts, and drinks. There’s a Mango French Toast with a thick and fluffy slice topped with mango, and a Thai Mango Sticky Rice that pairs the fruit with coconut rice. The Mango Smoothie Bowl comes with blended fruit and toppings of banana, while the Aam Ras Croissant brings mango pulp into a buttery pastry. On the drinks side, there’s a Mango Matcha and a Mango Solar Smoothie with blue spirulina.
LoCol by Subko’s 2026 'Aam Drop' brings together a mix of baked goods, bowls, and drinks. The French One: Aam uses their Brokkaido base filled with mango compote and jam, finished with whipped cream, honey, and fresh Ratnagiri mango. Coco ‘Aam’ann takes the kouign amann and layers it with coconut mousse, mango jam, streusel, and lime zest. There’s a vegan Aam Smoothie Bowl with mango and banana topped with pomegranate, seeds, and chocolate granola, and a savoury Aam Quinoa Bowl with raw mango, mango salsa, stracciatella, avocado, and a five-seed chikki. On the drinks side, the Aam Cream Flat White (iced) combines espresso with mango syrup, while the Cascara Aam Fizz uses cascara tea with mango syrup and a chilli salt rim.
