India’s Leading Hip-Hop Artists Are Part Of An Incredible Festival Lineup This Week

Homegrown Staff

This weekend India’s premier sneaker and street Culture festival is coming to Delhi at HGStreet. On the 18th of March, the Dhan Mill Compound will play host to the biggest names, sneaker brand labs, panels and talks, fashion shows, pop-up shops, photo exhibitions and four after-parties with 14 hours of simultaneous programming ranging from hip-hop, grime, house and techno to everything in between.

An inextricable link has always existed between sneaker and hip-hop culture, with major labels and artists in constant collaboration to further their dream of bringing street culture to the masses. At HG Street we’ll be celebrating this long-time relationship with visual explorations of the origins and re-imaginations of sneaker culture the world over, right from the early days of hip-hop culture by Jamil GS’s American Royalty series featuring Jay Z’s first press shot, to studio sessions with Outkast and more.

As the sun sets, let your hair down with an exclusive invite to four after-parties featuring local hip-hop icons like Divine, DJ MoCity, Prabhdeep and Grammy nominee, Rajakumari as well as Jay Z’s tour DJ from 2008 to 2010 – DJ Neil Armstrong himself. As if this impressive mix wasn’t enough, they’ll all be going head to head in a live rap battle. Freestyling and freewheeling with no format, the variety of individual stylings is sure to make for an unforgettable experience.
