Stay At This Boutique Himachal Pradesh Homestay Amidst The Himalayan National Park

Meghna Mathew

With this immense heat that is upon us in 2022, a getaway to the hills sounds like bliss. Getting away from the bustle of everyday life and embracing the peace of seclusion sounds like something we would all like to have right about now.

To make for the perfect mountain getaway, one must ensure their place of stay embodies the qualities you seek from your trip. The Kudrat Boutique Homestay located in the Bandal village in the Great Himalayan National Park (UNESCO Heritage Site) is bound to check off all things from the list of factors you’re seeking. Nestled beside the Tirthan river and amidst deodar trees, this site is as tranquil as it gets.

With 11 rooms across two houses, the Wood House and the Stone House, this homestay is apt for small as well as larger groups. Each of the rooms, by way of their set-up and decor, gives it a rather homely feel and their balconies and backyards are the perfect spots to unwind.

That is not all –– Kudrat is a result of traditional Indian architecture that follows the principles of being one with nature, minimising waste, and naturally lending desired properties to homes. The home has used materials dug out from the site it is built on –– a wooden pillar structure, Kath Kuni, features in the Wood House, made from stones and deodar wood.

Kudrat, which translates to ‘nature’ in English, lives up to its name and does so beautifully. Incorporating as many elements of nature as possible, the homestay also succeeds at integrating itself with its surroundings respectfully. If you don’t feel the warmth in your heart yet, maybe learning that the homestay is named after the founders’ daughter, Kudrat, will do the trick.
