Creative agencies across our country are doing groundbreaking work in terms of identifying an ideology of a culture or a people and embedding that into the identity and integrity of a brand. Effective usage of technology coupled with a deep-rooted understanding of typography has enabled these creatives to have a unique body of work. Working in tandem is an emphasis on collaboration and sensitivity has led to branding of the highest calibre. We have identified three such homegrown brands that have a strong creative ethos and that have added a whole new dimension of originality in the visual arts space.

Deliberation and problem-solving forming the core of their work, Please See is design thinking at its finest. The designs are clean and crisp and are resonant of a high level of professionalism and quality. From fashion and beauty to entertainment to hospitality to non-profit, multiple avenues are handled by the collective and they move through these projects with the utmost ease. One of their very interesting non-profit projects was the Oxfam’s Trailwalker that aimed at reducing and raising awareness about poverty. The solution was to make the Oxfam Trailwalker more than just a walk for a cause by building it into a community that brought people, companies and their beliefs together. The branding for the same induced feelings of community and integration. They modelled their visual style to topography. The topography is a representation of the course of change over time and was used to create a visual depiction of the purposeful and adventurous nature of the Trailwalker challenge.

Bakheda iterates that they are brand accelerators and their goal is to work as catalysts that boast and highlight the brand identity of a brand. In the process of this, they hope to help companies become competitive brands by making a positive impact. They host purpose workshops to help clients shape their greater narrative while actively working on problem-solving and fine-tuning the message that comes from the brand. They hope to be a mission that people will align with and practice actionable ways to move from storytelling to do. Their goal is to present the finest narrative to the audience and doing justice to the client.

One particular project that Homegrown loves is Bakheda’s work for the Irregulars Art Fair.

“The art fair seeks to present new and undiscovered artists in spaces that were not originally created for an art exhibition and to showcase their work in ways and forms that are not conventionally meant for display. The aim of TIRAF is to create a community at the intersection point of different genres of art and culture, for inventing new ones. Thereby forging an alternative space for the irregular arts, for the weird and the bizarre”. - Team Bakheda

The art fair project is a fairly unconventional take that has been represented to appeal to multiple demographics and is relevant in its execution. The concept of ‘altered reality’ was beautifully executed and encapsulated the vast emotions that come with urban living.
