An intensive two-day Tattoo Workshop, which is being conducted by Bengalaru artist Raja Gopalan, is tailored for individuals with a fervent passion for tattooing. Raja Gopalan's foray into the world of tattoo artistry was initiated by sheer fascination, eventually evolving into a flourishing career. Guided by mentorship from Senthil of Skindeep Tattoos and inspired by artists like John MA and Eek Glass Pani, he has ascended to new heights. Raja is the driving force behind MettleInk, a Bengaluru-based stuidio that is aiming to push the boundaries of tattoo artistry.
The first day focuses on tattoo design fundamentals, guided by Raja Gopalan. Participants will explore body anatomy intricacies, learn muscle flow mapping, and master the art of utilizing diverse body surfaces for balanced, harmonious tattoos. In the drawing segment, Raja will impart insights for all, aiding in interpreting design briefs and conceptualizing ideas swiftly. The workshop also emphasizes a hierarchy of drawing elements. Moving to the digital realm, participants will discover rendering techniques with Procreate, efficient use of the 3D arm feature, and AI software for design references and enhancing creative potential.
The second day of the workshop centers on the art of tattooing itself. Participants will be instructed on the essential principles of stencil placement, ensuring precision in the tattooing process. The workshop will delve into freehand tattooing techniques and the strategic selection of tattoo machines, along with the effective use of line weight. To guarantee client satisfaction, Raja will share best practices for post-tattoo care, along with professional tips and tricks that can yield optimal results.
