If there's one thing coffee lovers are passionate about at any given day, it's how to make coffee better. It's a science of brewing techniques centred around enhancing and extracting the flavours from beans as best one can. Catering to those coffee scientists, Bandra’s beloved sandwich shop, Veronica's, is partnering up with Kerehaklu, a renowned coffee estate from Chikmagalur, Karnataka, for a ‘Coffee Takeover’ this weekend.
The Coffee Takeover is a unique initiative that brings together local coffee roasters and restaurants to showcase their brewing mastery and signature blends. This is a fantastic opportunity for coffee aficionados to delve into the world of specialty coffee, explore new flavour profiles, and learn from the experts themselves.
Kerehaklu, a family-run estate steeped in tradition since 1953, cultivates its beans amidst the lush greenery of Chikmagalur, fostering a harmonious coexistence with the region's rich biodiversity. The Kerehaklu team, led by the father-son duo of Ajoy and Pranoy Thipaiah, combines their expertise in biology, agronomy, and agriculture to craft exceptional coffees that reflect the essence of the Indian specialty coffee wave.
Throughout the weekend of July 20 and 21st, Veronica's will be transformed into a haven for coffee lovers. Kerehaklu's specially curated menu will feature an array of enticing beverages, like the intriguing Salty Twist, a playful combination of espresso, tonic water, and a creamy salted finish. For a refreshing twist, there's the vegan White Tiger, a delightful concoction of espresso and chilled coconut water. And if you're craving a decadent treat, the Milo Mocha, a vegan blend of espresso, milk, chocolate syrup, and MILO, is sure to hit the spot.
But the coffee adventure doesn't stop there. Veronica's and Kerehaklu have brewed up something special for coffee aficionados who want to delve deeper. On Sunday, July 21, join Pranoy Thipaiah, Kerehaklu's Managing Partner, for an immersive coffee workshop. This interactive session will equip you with the knowledge to explore the intricacies of coffee tasting, understand fermentation processes, and refine your palate to appreciate the subtle nuances of each cup. Learn how your favorite black coffee acquires its unique notes, and embark on a sensory journey to broaden your coffee horizons.
Whether you're a seasoned coffee connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of specialty coffee, Veronica's Coffee Takeover promises an unforgettable experience celebrating the craft behind that perfect cup of Joe.
