“When we were shooting Antonio and Deepak we realised Intimacy is about the truth. When you know you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them and their response is ‘you’re safe with me’, that’s intimacy”
This story is about a German girl who is a singer and an Indian guy who is a painter. It all started when she was awestruck by an artist doing his job, painting murals in a cafe. Little did they know, that very new year's dusk would dawn their remarkable journey. Capturing this relationship, the photographer, Siranjive, shares how they never had to compose a single image but instead just had to admire and click two lovely souls making art and doing their daily chores together.
The photo series showcases a sense of comfort, intimacy and a sense of belonging. It represents the beauty in getting to know a stranger and in the process, forming an intangible connection. How their clashing identities and cultures start to mesh together as one. The tight shots, colour palettes and surroundings all symbolise the growing warmth and solace Antonio and Deepak find in each other's company.
