The Bootcamp Goa is a 14-day residential electronic music education camp held in Morjim, North Goa, running from March 9 to 21. Designed for DJs, producers, live performers and visual artists, it functions as an immersive, mentorship-led environment where participants step away from routine and work intensively on their craft alongside over 35 music industry heavyweights. The initiative is backed by 3IS Education, France, known for its work in filmmaking, sound and video games, and brings that institutional grounding into the electronic music ecosystem.
Season 5 brings together a wide lineup of mentors from India and abroad, including Anyasa, Gaurav Raina of Midival Punditz, Ma Faiza, Audiogramme, Komorebi, Hybrid Protokol, Clement Dsouza, Navendu, Seventh Sea and founder Rummy Sharma. The sonic spectrum stretches across techno, psy-trance, melodic techno and electronica. This edition builds on the insights of earlier seasons, with a sharper emphasis on depth, quality and sustained artistic growth. The curriculum focuses on advanced production, sound design and forward-looking performance practices, especially live, hybrid and DAWless formats.
Participants can choose from beginner, intermediate and advanced tracks and build a schedule of up to 45–50 hours by combining modules, mentorship sessions and masterclasses. There are DIY MIDI controller workshops, community jam sessions and access to Soundlabs for late-night practice. The 1:1 mentorship module stands out, offering focused sessions where artists can finish a track or prepare a live set directly with an experienced mentor and move it to performance-ready form.
The Art of DJing modules progress from foundational mixing and set-building to complex transitions, hybrid setups and professional booth readiness. DAWless Performance & Production explores drum machines, grooveboxes, samplers and hardware-driven live sets, while Electronic Music Production with Ableton delivers in-depth training in composition, arrangement and workflow. Sound Synthesis & Design dives into hardware, modular and digital synthesis, while Turntablism sharpens vinyl and scratching skills. The VJing & Audio-Reactive Visuals module using TouchDesigner trains artists to build immersive audiovisual performances. Advanced Week expands into Hybrid Performance, Scoring for Film & OTT, Music Business, Community Building, Live Sound Management and curated masterclasses, alongside dedicated mentorship sessions.
Among the masterclasses, Goa-based artist Dotdat will speak on modern production philosophy, rhythm-driven sound design, artistic identity and the global underground ecosystem. Indo-Canadian singer and producer Komorebi will share insights on songwriting, production, world-building and multidimensional artistry. Gaurav Raina brings decades of experience across electronic music, film scoring and cross-cultural collaboration. Music and media strategist Malvika Nanda of The Big Beat will lead a session on branding, messaging and building long-term visibility in a landscape shaped by fast-moving virality.
Mentorship sits at the core of the camp. Founder Rummy Sharma, widely regarded as one of the architects of India’s modern electronic music culture, has spent over three decades shaping the scene through DJing, production, festival infrastructure and education. He introduced Berlin-style techno to Indian audiences and helped organise early multi-day festivals beginning with Vibrato 2000. Now based in Bordeaux, he continues to tour internationally while contributing to 3IS Education and working to bridge traditional education with contemporary industry needs.
For artists who are serious about electronic music, this camp offers time to build your sound and access to invaluable professional insights in one place. The Bootcamp creates a space of dynamic experimentation that encourages musical expression and honing the skills under the guidance of artists that can well reshape your understanding of what is possible.
