The city of Varanasi had a breathtakingly visual experience at this year’s Balloon and Boat Festival in Kashi held from 17th January to 20th January. Pictures fall short while describing the beautiful landscapes and vibrant culture of our nation. However, the pictures uploaded on Twitter by Incredible India and UP Tourism of the festival give us a glimpse. The initiative was spearheaded in 2021 by the Uttar Pradesh government in order to boost tourism and provide a unique way to experience the spiritual city. The event appealed most to the adventurous folks who got onto a hot air balloon and experienced the spiritual capital of India and the river Ganges from a bird’s eye view.

There were many who attended the festival and shared glimpses of the hot air balloon festival on their social media accounts. A wonderful video was also shared by Incredible India's Twitter handle that showed giant hot air balloons hovering over the Ganges and the city. The caption of the tweet read “Lift up your spirits as you fly like a bird, hovering over the ancient city of Varanasi at the grand Balloon Festival. Are you planning to board on this adventurous ride?”

The activities of the event included also included paramotors and flyboarding. The event played host to renowned international and nationally acclaimed indie-folk musicians such as Nathu Lal Solanki, Prem Joshua, Kabir Cafe, and Kashi's homegrown talent Sukhdev Prasad Mishra, as well.
