In A Quest For Happiness: Short Film 'Flow' Talks About Mental Health In Quarantine

Meghna Mathew

The COVID-19 lockdown, followed by months of quarantine has proved to be an unimaginable situation. What had begun as a solemn resolve to take out time for our passion and give ourselves the much-needed ‘me-time’ has seemingly transcended to a bid to barely keep up with what’s required of us.

Flow, a short film by Archit Kumar explores mental health in lockdown and questions — is happiness the result of completing a task, or is it brought about by true immersion in a passionate activity? The film follows a day in the life of a screenwriter who is jammed under a deadline. Although his work is a big part of him, he feels the need to do something purely for himself — songwriting and singing.

The film encourages people to do a little something for themselves each day aside from fulfilling their purpose elsewhere. It brings about a paramount thought — what did I do to make myself happy today?

‘Flow’ is accompanied by a beautiful track by Zenith, and is complete with their music partners, Shark & Ink.
