This is a Budweiser Studios x #HGACADEMY initiative. If I had a dime each time I fantasized about new sneakers with cool designs and my name etched on them with diamantes, I’d be a millionaire by now. Sneaker customization is an emerging art form that enables you to put your design vision into your footwear — a fashion statement that you can carry with you.
All art is an expression of the artist's creativity and sneaker customization is gaining worldwide popularity thanks to different athletes putting it in the spotlight; we can say that it’s steadily gaining traction as an alternative art form. Sneaker customization is the process of altering an existing shoe model widely available in the market and putting your spin on it. More and more Indian artists are taking it up as a vocation.
If you are a sneakerhead, you are in for a treat at the #HGStreet Festival as it will play host to one of the leading sneaker customizers in the field, Chaitanya Dixit, who will conduct a workshop on the basics of sneaker customization.
Workshop: Basics Of Sneaker Customization by Chaitanya Dixit
Date: 18th March, 3:45 pm - 4:15 pm
#HGStreet is a two-day festival (18th-19th March 2023) that is at the intersection of creativity, music, art and design, fashion, film and photography, technology, sneakers and street culture, sports, education, culinary, innovation, and more happening at the Richardson & Cruddas warehouse in Byculla.
#HGStreet festival is not your typical music festival but an adventurous playground for various disciplines.
Other than the workshop by Chaitanya Dixit, there will also be workshops on how to make a viral video by renowned film director Dar Gai, on the art of doodling by Santanu Hazarika, and on beat production by record producer, Karan Kanchan. The multi-format festival will also have several visual exhibits as well, along with 40+ next-gen music acts, conversation panels, sneakers, global streetwear marketplaces, masterclasses, and food and drink pop-ups by Budx, Budweiser, and more.
The conductor of the workshop on the basics of sneaker customization, Chaitanya Dixit is the founder of CHE. He has designed for the likes of Ranbir Kapoor. The artist has also collaborated with brands like Puma and Reebok on several occasions. His works are varied with respect to both style and budget. The prices start at INR 3,000 and go up to approximately INR 9,000 depending on the complexity of the design.
