Job Title: Fashion and Lifestyle Writer

Experience: 2-3 years

Roles/Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation:

  • Research, write, and edit articles, and features, related to fashion, beauty, lifestyle trends, and related topics set within the South-Asian cultural context.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the fashion and lifestyle industries to provide relevant and timely content.

  • Develop a unique and engaging writing style that resonates with the target audience.

2. Research:

  • Conduct thorough research to gather information, and background on fashion trends, designers, beauty products, lifestyle brands, and related subjects.

  • Stay informed about industry developments, consumer preferences, and cultural influences to create well-informed content.

3. Trend Analysis:

  • Analyze fashion and lifestyle trends to provide insights, and commentary on emerging styles, consumer behaviors, and market dynamics.

  • Identify and report on influential figures and brands in the fashion and lifestyle industries within the South Asian community and diaspora.

4. Visual Content:

  • Collaborate with photographers, graphic designers, or illustrators to incorporate visual elements into your content, including images, illustrations, and videos.

5. SEO Optimization:

  • Optimize articles for search engines (SEO) by conducting keyword research, optimizing headlines, and ensuring content is easily discoverable online.

6. 7. Editing and Proofreading:

  • Review and edit your own work for clarity, grammar, and style.

  • Collaborate with editors to refine and improve content as needed.

8. Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other writers, editors, photographers, and designers to produce multimedia content and editorial packages.

9. Adherence to Deadlines:

  • Meet strict deadlines for article submission, especially in the fast-paced fashion and lifestyle industry.

10. Ethical Standards:

  • Adhere to ethical standards in journalism, including fact-checking, citing sources, avoiding conflicts of interest and plagiarism.

Atributes

  • 2-3 years of experience in writing fashion & lifestyle content.

  • Strong writing skills with excellent grammar and attention to detail.

  • A passion for and deep knowledge of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle trends.

  • Proficiency in digital media tools (eg. Google Trends, Google Docs., etc.), content management systems, and social media platforms.

  • Strong research skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data.

  • Creativity and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for networking and building relationships within the industry.
