This article is about the third edition of Mautpith scheduled for March 1, 2026 at Depot48, and details the full lineup including returning Indian acts, international artists from the UK and Australia, and a gothic drag performance; it highlights the debut of the band Death’s Funeral, Willow Scarlet’s involvement across projects, the headlining appearance by veteran darkwave act Attrition, and positions Mauthpit as a recurring meeting point connecting Delhi’s underground scene with global goth and darkwave lineages.

Mauthpit was founded in 2025 by Willow Scarlet, a Delhi-based darkwave musician whose work had already begun to circulate widely online. With thousands of streams on Spotify and the track Saaya crossing 12,000 plays, Willow Scarlet set out to create a physical space for a scattered but committed alternative community in the city. The intention behind Mauthpit was to bring together goths, punks, and alternative listeners in Delhi through live music that reflected their sounds, aesthetics, and philosophy. The first edition took place on May 22, 2025, aligning with World Goth Day, and immediately established the event as a rare platform for dark alternative music in the city.

That debut edition featured performances by Willow Scarlet alongside Echo Eudora, Nandini, Gurpreet, Averse Asylum, and Qalakaand with a strong turnout that confirmed the demand for such a space. Later that year, on August 23, 2025, Mauthpit returned with its second edition titled Goth Prom, expanding its audience and solidifying its identity.

In 2026, Mauthpit returns for its third edition, scheduled for March 1 at Depot48. The upcoming edition continues the event’s focus on both local and international goth scenes, with projects from the United Kingdom, Australia, and India sharing the same stage. Echo Eudora, Gurpreet, and Nandini return once again, reinforcing the culture that has shaped Mauthpit since its inception.

A central moment of Mauthpit 3 is the debut of Death’s Funeral, a Delhi-based darkwave and goth rock band formed by Willow Scarlet, Gurpreet, Nandini, and guitarist Kshitij. Positioned as a new collective emerging from familiar voices, the band brings together lead vocals, guitars, keyboards, and backing vocals to build a sound rooted in goth tradition while grounded in the city’s life.

Headlining the event is Attrition, the long-running post-punk and darkwave act formed in the United Kingdom in 1980 by Martin Bowes. Known as pioneers of darkwave, Attrition’s work shaped sonic directions that later became central to gothic and industrial music through the 1990s. With decades of critically acclaimed releases, extensive international touring, and music featured in film soundtracks, their presence at Mauthpit 3 connects Delhi’s contemporary scene to a wider global history.

The lineup also includes Schkeuditzer Kreuz, a solo project from the Blue Mountains of Australia that blends harsh electronic noise with hardcore, crust, and d-beat punk influences, and Subterranea, the project of Alia Synesthesia, a Siberian-Canadian trained operatic singer and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans darkwave, industrial, dark ambient, and folk forms. Beyond music, the event will also feature a gothic drag performance by Himika Ghoshal.

Tickets for Mauthpit 3 are available via Skillbox, with the event set to begin at 7:30 PM. With its third edition, Mauthpit continues to function as a meeting point for Delhi’s alternative youth while opening its stage to international voices that share the same lineage and intent.
